Brad Jacob Appointed as Associate Dean for Online Programs

Regent University School of Law is pleased to announce Bradley P. Jacob, J.D., as associate dean for online programs. In his new role, Jacob will oversee online programs including the Master of Arts in Law and the Master of Arts in Financial Planning and Law.



“We are fortunate to have Professor Jacob at Regent Law,” said Regent University School of Law Dean Mark Martin. “Professor Jacob, in light of his demonstrated expertise in distance education, will enable Regent Law to continue its standing as one of the very best providers of online legal education in the nation.”

The associate dean for online programs will be responsible for current and future distance-education programs in the Regent University School of Law. He will supervise overall curriculum structure and concentrations; oversee the creation of new courses and revision of existing courses as needed; hire and assign adjunct faculty; oversee, train, evaluate, and equip faculty; develop and communicate various academic policies and pedagogical best practices; respond to student petitions for course substitutions, academic policy variance, and grade appeals; and work with university marketing, enrollment, and advising for online students.

Jacob is a graduate of the University of Chicago Law School who joined the Regent Law faculty in 2001 as an associate professor. His teaching expertise includes Constitutional Law, Foundations of Law, Constitutional Criminal Procedure, and Nonprofit Tax-Exempt Organizations. Before coming to Regent, Jacob served as: Founding provost and dean of Patrick Henry College (1998-2000); executive director/CEO of the Christian Legal Society (1991-93); associate dean of the proposed School of Law at Geneva College (1993-98); staff attorney in the Center for Law & Religious Freedom (1988‑91); and director of the Justice Fellowship Policy Institute at Prison Fellowship Ministries (2000-01).

Regent Law Hires Two New Faculty Members—Both Yale Law Graduates—for Fall 2022

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (July 5, 2022) – Today, Regent University School of Law announced the appointment of two new members of its faculty, Erin Morrow Hawley and David D. After Success at Regional Level, Negotiation Team Prepares for National Competition

Regent University School of Law’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Board (ADR) made a strong showing at the ABA Regional Negotiation Competition held Nov. 13-14 at William and Mary School of Law. The 2L team of Mary Katherine Bratton and David Crossett finished second overall from a roster of over 20 teams representing American University, Georgetown, Washington & Lee and other law schools throughout Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, West Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. While all three of Regent’s competition teams placed in the top ten, Bratton and Crossett look forward to an official invitation from the ABA to compete in the national competition, February 5-6 in Orlando, FL.
